Luxury custom furniture, designed and manufactured in South Africa.
Founded in 2015. Built in our own factory in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. Shown at Fourways Mall, Johannesburg.
Robert Johnson Home was founded in 2015 with a simple goal: to create opportunity and deliver quality furniture. What began in Kroonstad as a small operation supplying headboards quickly evolved into a growing brand, driven by demand from across Johannesburg and nationwide.
In 2020, we made a defining move by establishing our own manufacturing facility, allowing us to take full control of quality, craftsmanship and consistency. Today, we design and produce premium custom furniture from our factory in Roodepoort, supported by our showroom in Fourways Mall, Johannesburg.
From high-end residential interiors to large-scale hospitality projects, including work beyond South Africa, Robert Johnson Home continues to deliver furniture that combines durability, functionality and refined design.
From a single headboard order to our own factory.
- 2015
Founded in Kroonstad
Born in June 2015 out of a need to overcome unemployment and create opportunity. The business began by sourcing headboards from a Johannesburg factory and marketing them to local customers through social media.
- 2016
Nationwide demand
Orders arrived from Johannesburg and other provinces, pushing the business to operate more seriously. Couches and other custom pieces were introduced, and a small Kroonstad showroom let local clients experience the quality firsthand.
- 2018
Relocated to Johannesburg
The business moved to be closer to its growing customer base in Gauteng, with production still relying on multiple suppliers and manufacturers.
- 2020
Our own factory
During the COVID-19 lockdown, with demand for home furniture rising, we invested in machinery and established our own manufacturing facility, taking full control of production and quality.
- 2021
Fourways Mall showroom
In September 2021 we opened our first major showroom in Fourways Mall, a significant milestone in the brand's growth.
- Today
Roodepoort factory, nationwide reach
We operate from our factory in Roodepoort and showroom in Fourways, taking on high-end residential projects and supplying furniture for apartment hotels, including projects beyond South Africa's borders.
